I am the Miss Earth USA system. I live eat and breath the values and mission of this system every single day starting in my own classroom with my students. The knowledge that I have learned about our environment, as a certified green classroom professional and certified facilitator for Project Wet & Project Wild I put to use by turing my school green. Because of the work I did implementing green and healthy sustainable actions into my classroom our school was awarded the Green & Healthy Schools, Wisconsin Sprout Badge. My goal next year is to become a Green Ribbon School a program started in 2010 by the US Department of Education. This system is like none other for over 25 years they have been working to make our environment better for all of us. The fact that they are so committed to their non-profit Beauties For a Cause is something I deeply respect. Their new initative Still She Rose with a focus on mental health awarness speaks to my heart. As a child I grew up with an undiagnoised learning disability called dyslexia. It was not until my adult years after the diagnois of my son's dyslexia that I finally received my diagnosis. Children who have learning disabilites have the highest suicide rate and I don't have to tell you what constant failure can do to a very young childs self esteem. I will proudly work, support and promote this incredible system and all of their initiatives and organizations! This is where I want to leave my legacy as I continue to grow my initiative Green Schools Rock which empowers communities and children with the knowledge and tools they need to build greener healthier learning environments. One School One Green Leader Rockstar at a time. I am truly excited about the journey and am honored to be representing my home state of Wisconsin this year as Mrs. Wisconsin Earth USA 2022!
